Get to know me better, here!

My name is Cailen. I am a Certified (Clinical) Social Worker and Therapist. I just recently graduated with my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky and am currently working under supervision to obtain my complete licensure. I also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in criminal justice. I have been practicing in mental health since 2022 and have previous experience working with children, emphasizing psychoeducation and school-related concerns. Being passionate about working with children, I am also devoted to my work with adults, emphasizing ADHD among an array of other potential concerns.

I work to utilize an integrative and directive approach to therapy, emphasizing psychoeducation and the use of proactive interventions to promote self-exploration and growth. I believe that psychological well-being requires us to look further into our thoughts, feelings, and experiences as individuals, including the aspects of our environments that work to influence our perspectives and behaviors.

I have ADHD myself, and as a fellow Neurodivergent friend, I specialize in working with (child & adult) ADHD and have notable experience working with children and school-related concerns. I am also trained in EMDR (child & adult) and enjoy using techniques based in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Mindfulness, Somatic/Sensory-based Experiences, Inner Child, Expressive-Arts, and Exposure Therapies.

The way I see it, self-exploration is at the foundation of growth and healing - and we can do this by asking questions, engaging in conversation, and utilizing personalized interventions as an effective way to not only understand the self on a deeper level, but also to find the best approaches for addressing our concerns and making changes in our lives for the better. We will work together to create an individualized treatment plan to help motivate you towards making positive change, healing, and getting what you desire out of life.

What's Important to Me?

Hi, my name is Willie!

This is my dog, Willie! He is like my own little, fluffy "therapist", haha! Spending time with our loved ones (even the four-legged ones) is one of the best ways to help promote stability in our lives.

In Nature

I love spending time outdoors and getting to feel the sun on my face. I will always believe that spending time in the fresh air and sunshine is one of the best medicines for stress and depression (even if it only helps for a little while).

Creativity = Brain Power

I also LOVE getting to be creative and challenge my brain in whatever ways I can! That especially includes painting, sketching, crafts, graphic design, and writing. I also really enjoy cooking when I have the time. You don't have to "be creative" to "be creative". ;)

Working with Kids

While I am passionate about my work in its entirety, I feel especially confident in my work with kids. I have learned that it is my job to not only help these kids learn to manage stress or cope with the world around them - it is also my job to advocate for them and help them find their voice in this world.
