COMING SOON!

I plan to add resources to this page that you can access when you are needing some extra guidance, information about a concern, or just a little reminder or "pick-me-up" when you are feeling down.

This is where you will be able to find helpful resources, informational links, and inspiring (or "just for fun") media related to your treatment with me (or just life in general).

I will try to keep this updated regularly and will work to continue adding new and educational things to this page for you to reference or utilize outside of our sessions. :)

What does "self-care" mean?

Self-care is more than learning how to relax.

It’s all the strategies you use to care for yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

The self-care methods that work for you may be as individual as you are.

Guidelines for Greatness

This is a list of some general rules, guidelines, and expectations of therapy. Please, take a moment to look over the following icons and their corresponding notes so that you can be best prepared for our upcoming sessions and so you can get the most out of your therapy experience. :)

Confidentiality

This is the golden rule. Anything you discuss with me remains confidential unless there’s a risk to your safety or someone else’s, or if you give me permission to share with someone else. Therapists are legally and ethically bound to protect your privacy. So, feel free to open up – this is a safe zone!

Active Participation

Therapy isn’t a passive process. I can’t “fix all of your problems” or force you to take advice. Simply put, I can’t help unless you are ready to receive help. Be ready to engage, and share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. As your therapist, I will guide you, but your active participation is crucial.

Consistency

Regular attendance matters. Consistent sessions allow you to build momentum and delve deeper into your issues. Skipping sessions can impact your progress and push you to feel discouraged.

Homework and Practice

Sometimes I will assign you homework – such as things like journaling, practicing coping skills, or trying new behaviors. It’s like mental gym time!

Mutual Respect

Respect goes both ways. You deserve respect from me as your therapist, and I deserve the same from you.

Setting Goals

During our first session, you should be sure you have an idea of what you want to achieve throughout the therapy process. And, sometimes we might find we need to shift the focus of our goals a little bit and that’s okay. Whether it’s managing anxiety, improving relationships, or understanding yourself better, clear goals help steer the process.

Feedback

Don’t hesitate to provide feedback. If something isn’t working for you, or maybe you want to try something we haven’t yet discussed, PLEASE share it! Therapists appreciate open communication.

No Judgement Zone

Therapy is a judgment-free zone. There is nothing I haven’t already seen or heard that would make me raise an eyebrow at you. If you want to reveal your quirkiest thoughts or deepest fears, DO IT! It could help set the stage for us to get to know more about each other and may even lead us to something new to explore during our sessions.

Boundaries

Within the therapeutic relationship, we must maintain professional boundaries. I won’t become your best friend or solve all your problems outside of sessions. But I will be there to support, guide, and encourage you during your scheduled time.

Patience

Progress takes time. Be patient with yourself and the process. You know… Rome wasn’t built in a day. 😉

REMEMBER...

These aren’t rigid rules etched in stone; they’re more like friendly guidelines. It’s my job as your therapist to adapt them to fit your unique needs. And hey, therapy isn’t just about rules - it’s about growth, healing, and making positive change for yourself!
